Dr. Max Bloch on the history of the Zuelzer family in the journal "EXIL: Research, Findings, Results"

Inheritance investigation certainly has overlaps with scientific research work, so it is not surprising that it is mainly historians who are to be found in our industry.

In the current issue of the journal "EXIL: Research, Findings, Results," our colleague Dr. Max Bloch examines the history of the Zuelzer family, a German-Jewish dynasty of physicians whose members were scattered to the four winds after 1933. In doing so, he proceeded as he is accustomed to doing in his professional practice as an heir investigator: He not only researched archives, but also individuals. The surviving descendants of Berlin physician Wilhelm Zuelzer (1834-1893) – residing in New Zealand, England, and the USA – agreed to be interviewed and sent documents and photos that added color to the story, which Dr. Bloch compiled and prepared for publication. Lasting connections have developed from the encounters with the descendants of Wilhelm Zuelzer.

We are grateful to Dr. Bloch and the journal EXIL for allowing us to make the technical essay available unabridged on our website.
