Dr. Max Bloch on the history of the Zuelzer family in the journal "Exile: Research, Findings, Results".
Inheritance investigation certainly has overlaps with scientific research work, so it is not surprising that it is mainly historians who are to be found in our industry.
In the current issue of the magazine EXIL, our colleague Dr. Max Bloch devotes himself to the history of the Zuelzer family, a German-Jewish medical dynasty whose relatives were scattered to the four winds after 1933. In doing so, he proceeded in the manner to which he is accustomed from his professional practice as an heir investigator: He not only researched in archives; he also researched people. The still living descendants of the Berlin physician Wilhelm Zuelzer (1834-1893) - who lived in New Zealand, England and the USA - allowed themselves to be questioned, sent documents and photos that lent color to the account and which Dr. Bloch compiled and prepared for publication. The meetings with the descendants of Wilhelm Zuelzer have resulted in lasting connections.
We are grateful to Dr. Bloch and the journal EXIL for allowing us to make the technical essay available unabridged on our website.
