Why we are a member of the IAPPR

IAPPR (International Association of Professional Probate Researcher, Genealogist and Heir Hunters) is the first international association in which professional probate researchers have organized themselves. IAPPR was founded in London in 2016 with the participation of our managing director Jan-Mathis Holstein.

While all members of this association are also competitors of each other to some extent - what we have in common is that we are convinced that probate, as a service industry, requires the highest possible professional and ethical standards. IAPPR members are committed to this goal and, by becoming members, have committed to IAPPR's specific standards, which can be viewed online.

In addition, a large number of the investigation cases we handle have an international focus. Often the decedent has died in the USA, Great Britain or France and we are asked for assistance by international partners. Last but not least, we often have to investigate German inheritance cases abroad, especially in the former German Eastern territories, which makes investigations in Poland, Russia, the Czech Republic and Lithuania, among others, necessary. Here we benefit from the networking and exchange of knowledge between the members of the IAPPR.
